Our country has had a tendency to forget that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had a radical message for America. “For King, the condition of truth was to allow suffering to speak; for him, justice was what love looks like in public,” writes Dr. Cornell West. Dr. King wrote about four moral catastrophes which are still with us today: Militarism, Racism, Poverty, and Materialism. Taking his legacy seriously means continuing to speak truth to power, and continuing to fight for our democracy. We will reflect on these things as well as chant, sing, learn from each other, and sign a letter to Senator Tillis. This will be the 105th week of continuous resistance to the Trump administration and the policies of Senator Tillis.
We meet every Tuesday rain or shine, hot or cold.
