Save net neutrality and Yemen, stop bank deregulation

March 13, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

In December, three members of the FCC made the terrible decision to rescind net neutrality. 83% of Americans opposed this. The Congressional Review Act (CRA) would overturn this decision. An open internet is vital for free expression; otherwise your internet will look like cable TV, with limited choices determined by the telecom industry, among other things. We are urging Senator Tillis to co-sponsor and vote for the CRA. If you can’t come, call MOCs at 858-264-0403 and urge them to reverse the FCC’s December vote. Also this week there are crucial votes in the Senate about the undeclared US war with Yemen (the largest humanitarian crisis in the world) and bank deregulation. The bills to rescind bank deregulation and net neutrality disproprotionately hurt poor people and people of color. Join us as we educate ourselves and each other and learn how to take action. If you can’t come, see the action guide about Yemen and the banking bills elsewhere on our page. #tuesdayswithtillis
